I recall years ago sitting with Kathy in her kitchen and her telling me about the cancer ward where she worked at that time. If memory serves, it was a VA hospital where half the patients had chosen hospice and half had chosen to have every possible intervention. She calmly said, "It is ironic that the ones who choose hospice almost always have a better end of life experience." Her thoughtful directness is what has stayed with me.
She was always ready to embrace the moment, solve a problem or break into an infectious laugh. A great loss. My deepest condlences to you and your family, Duane. Ann, the mother of Michael Currier.

My deepest, heartfelt condolences to Elizabeth, Nicholas, and Cotter. I have known Kathy for at least 30 years. I was not only her dentist, I was her friend. Kathy was full of knowledge and life. Every time she came to my office she had new details to share of something she had learned, either personally (boy scout stories) or professionally. I actually saved medical ideas to discuss with her during her visits. I enjoyed her knowledge and her personality. We had children around the same time, and we exchanged ideas of parenting and tools to do so. I am deeply saddened by her passing. It's quite a loss for all who knew her.
