Dear Kathy, One of the clearest teachings of God's Word is that dead Loved ones will return to life. Bible accounts of past resurrections guarantee that "all those in the memorial tombs will hear [Jesus'] voice and come out". [John 5:28'29] As the dead come forth, the earth will be filled with joy as never before. Billions of once dead humans will again take place among the living.[Mark 5:39-42; Rev. 20:13] Meditating on this future miracle should comfort all who have lost dear ones in death.

My sincerest condolences to your family. Though I didn't know Eugene personally, I can tell from his memorial that he was a very selfless person. I can only imagine how devastated his family must be while they are experiencing this loss, but perhaps you can find comfort in this scripture at Isaiah 35:5,6. It talks about a wonderful hope for the future that I'm sure Eugene will be a part of.
