This memorial was created in honor of Angel "Junior" Ramon Collazo of Kissimmee, Florida. Angel was born on January 7, 1943 in San Juan and passed on September 9, 2014. He was a beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather, and uncle. He served on the First Marine Corp District Marine Barracks, USNB, Norfolk, Virginia. He was Honorably discharged July 27, 1966. His rank was LCPL (E-3). He went on a good will tour for two years and was on board the ship around the Cuban Crisis and the death of Trujillo in Dominican Republic. SEMPER Fi. Marines the few the proud. Once a Marine always a Marine. These are the words he always spoke. He was so proud to be called a United States Marine. When ever he met a Marine on the streets he would salute and say SEMPER Fi.
He will never understand the enormity of his impact on so many. The family he has built will carry on together as he taught us and would have wanted us to. The stories he shared with us we will share with our children and we will also share our memories of him with them. Angel R Collazo will live on in our hearts and souls.
"Those we love don't go away,
They walk beside us everyday,
Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very Dear."

Current Memories

From: Angie Collazo Thursday, September 11, 2014
There are so many memories i can share and i will do so as i get my head together but one that i look back on that makes me laugh i will share now. I grew up in the 90's where girls wore baggy jeans and t shirts so of course i did as well. my father looked at me one day up and down as said how do u ever expect to get married dressed like that. I looked at him blankly for a second and said Ummm dad i am only 14 i dont think im on the market yet to which he shook his head and mumbled at me lol. I also remember the weekends i stood over at his house in long island. I used to count the days till that weekend came. I would get ready and wait for him to show when i saw his car pull up i would head right over to him and off we would go. Growing up in the city where there were very few trees it was amazing to take that ride with him. he always played his music and sang along as i watched the trees out the window. to me it was like going to the country. i felt calm and at peach when i was with him. i dont think there has ever been a time where i have felt that safe except when i was sitting next to my dad. i miss his hugs and his smell his laughter and his sense of humor.

I have to many memories of me and dad but one stands out the most when I was small and was being really bad he came in looked at me in a way told me to go to the room. By the time he came in the room I was scared as hell and he looked at me and I was trembling from head to toe (mind you it was summer and a hot day)he sat down looked at me and no longer could he hold a straight face. He asked me you cold smiling then laughing cuz he didn't say anything and I was historical crying he stood up and said don't do that again in a firm voice. Boy that night I was so happy he didn't take me over his knees and spank me.
