Great doesn’t even begin to explain how having Mike as a big brother was. There was never a moment when he didn't watch out for me and have my back – even times when we both knew I was in the wrong, Mike was ALWAYS still there for me.
I remember when my parents would go out Mike used to sneak us out of the house, and he would take me to Cricket Hill in the winter – We would sled down that hill all day long! In the summer we would ride our bikes down the hill trying to pop wheelies to see who could go the furthest. When we first started doing that, I told Mike you go first, how hard could it be? Needless to say, it was harder than it looked, and Mike crashed. At that point I could see he was not happy, but what were big brothers for, right? Another favorite memory is when Mike bought a white Honda 305 motorcycle, and he would take me out cruising – man, we thought we were so cool! Our household life and upbringing were not a good one, so these outings were always a great escape from reality for us.
Mike and our father just never got along. (honestly, none of us got along with our father) The ole man was always on his case and finally he said if you don’t like it get out. Mike took him up on that and unfortunately, I didn’t get to see him that much, but when he did stop by, we’d hang out and he’d play the guitar. Eventually, Mike had enough arguing with the ole man and went into the Navy. I always cherished the time we were able to spend together when he was home on leave. I remember we went and saw him graduate from boot camp at Great Lakes, and I could not have been prouder of him.
Once Mike finished his time in the Navy and came home, the very next day he started working at United Motor Coach (which is now Pace) as a driver. I asked him “Don’t you want some free time first? He said he wanted to get started on his job. And THAT is Mike! He worked hard, he worked constantly, and never once complained about it. His work ethic is something I had never seen before and it certainly inspired me to attempt to match it, to take care of my family the way he always took care of his, and for that I will be forever thankful and am so proud to call him my big brother.
As time goes on – life, work and family make it difficult to get together, (as days, months, and years pass by we go on never really thinking how times like these could come sooner than later) but Mike and I always made the effort to talk and text each other throughout the year. As small as those quick check-ins or messages may have been it was our way of saying I love you and I miss you. In fact, in one of our last texts, I said to Mike “Why don’t we meet at Don’s Dock for lunch? I’ll buy.” Mike (and his dedication) said he was on his route and that he had to eat his lunch on the bus … so when we meet again, lunch is on you big brother. I will miss those texts and calls more than words can express, but I hold the memory of you close in my heart for the rest of my days. Rest in peace big brother, I love you!

I only met Mr. Joz a couple of times but he seemed like an easy going guy. Mike Jr always described him as a hard and dedicated worker. Condolences to you and your family at this difficult time.

Our condolences to Kathy and the entire Jozwiak family. Mike was like a super hero; loved his family, was super hard working and had a big heart. Anyone who knew Mike should be honored to have known him. He was proud of his driving record for Pace, helped to keep Rosemont safe and most of all took care of his family. We were blessed to know him.
The Frystak Family?????????

My earliest memories of Mr. Joz, is his "Dadface." The sleepy look of a man bouncing from one of his jobs to his another job with only a couple hours of sleep in between in an effort to provide for his family. When he found out I played guitar, he was excited to dust off an old guitar guitar case, (never talked about it before) and proceeded to play the heck out of it, putting me to shame. "Oh i used to travel around and play," He said. Thank you for the amazing family. Rest in peace. Ryan and the Slatterys.
