Brother Richard was an inspiration to me. I remembered how hard he worked to get through law school at the UW as I struggled to complete my undergraduate studies at the U. When I was learning how to drive (probably 15) Richard took me down to the Sicks Seattle Stadium parking lot in his 1950 Chevrolet for driving lessons. He was very patient with me even after I slammed on the brakes and sent him flying head long into the windshield. He said, "I'm ok, keep going." Richard will be missed by his family and friends.

(From Wuyan and Jessie Chiu)
He is the best attorney we know: very smart, with wisdom, very efficient, honest, surprisingly good memory, kind, and considerate. Most of all, his love, dedication, and caring for his wife June. There are too many good qualities to mention! We enjoyed many lunches shared with him. Not only he is our great lawyer, but also a dear friend forever. We talked about meeting again when the virus situation calm down.

I wrote long tribute to Richard, but it disappeared, only because it refused me. I loved Richard, because he was on my case for Ancestry; he provided a lot of information in my attempt to document my history on Ancestry.com. I knew about Michael & Dan Powers, having met them before. I also met Julie, June & Mike Powers, but it was a long time ago.

We met Richard through Michael and my sister Susie, when my sister visited them in Seattle, we knew what a beautiful person he was and all his family too. My younger brother Aldo is a lawyer and He was Richard´s friend through the internet. Although we did not have an ongoing relationship, we always knew we could count on him. My son Quin, and I went to see him in Seattle, I needed some advice and we saw him in his favorite restaurant. He gave me an important vision of what I should do, and I will always be grateful to him for it. The Powers are a very special family. God bless you. Noemi Reed (González)

I remember Richard donning his apron and chef hat to make us his specialty breakfast - Eggs Ricardo. He used a bacon press to fry the bacon nice and flat as we watched from the living room in the Lake Bellevue condo.
Richard also made the best potato salad (a 3-day process) and refused to share his secret recipe. We will miss our Chef Ricardo!
