Tom was a great mentor when I was studying electronics. He gave me the opportunity to have a tour of the satellite ground station where he worked for school. It was a fantastic tour! I got to take pictures of the huge satellite dish, got to follow the wave tubes inside to "accidentally" listening to international voice traffic! Fantastic tour! The tour was so great that the teacher gave me an A and wanted my pictures! Tom helped me tremendously later in life when I just started in information technology. Being a rookie, he would help me by talking over the phone some of the more difficult problems of troubleshooting computer systems and networks. Ah, the good old days! He even gave me my first PC to play with.

My dad is one of my earliest inspirations of becoming an artist. I remember looking at one of his paintings as a kid and wondered how on earth he painted so well. I wanted so very much to paint the way he did.

One of my favorite things that I loved to do was to grab my dad's brand new colored pencils and computer paper to draw on. Sometimes I wonder if he left it out just for me!
