Dad, thinking of you on Father's Day, and how blessed I was to have a father who was there. Who loved and cared for his family. Who worked to help his fellow man. Who set the example for the life of a hardworking, Christian man. Love you and miss you always.

Dad, the Peace Lily given to us by the UMWA District 31 staff when we lost you, is blooming, now, in WV, in December. It is in Mom's room, and I told her I believe you are telling her, "Merry Christmas" Know we miss you today and every day. Your Bride still smiles when we talk about you.

A year ago, we lost a great man. The longer I live, the more I see our society changing, and not for the better I might add; the more I appreciate what a rare privilege it was to call him Dad and share his life. He spent his life and his career working to make life better for not only his family but for all working people and their families. I am proud to know many people who do or have worked for Unions or in the political arena, or both. Out there working not only to help keep workers safe but to help them hold on to a fair wage and benefits in a world so driven by greed. I have seen for myself the dedication and sacrifice of not only those out there working to make things better but also the families that support them. I know and appreciate how hard it is. I love you Dad.
