Michael J. LaValley, 69, of Norfolk, passed away on January 11, 2018. Born in Natick to the late John F. and Janice M. (Sears) LaValley, graduated from Bellingham HS in 1966. Loving husband of Barbara (Cronin) for 35 years. Devoted father of Keith and his wife Becky of Harwich, MA, Craig and his wife Laura of Franconia, NH, daughters Bethany and Michelle of Norfolk. Adoring grandfather of Brodie, Cameron and Brooke. Big brother to Cynthia Cardinal and her wife Mary Lenburg of Little River, SC and the late Stephen LaValley. Also survived by many caring in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews. Mike had many occupations over the years including insurance sales for John Hancock, materials manager at Milford Hospital, positions with Bellingham and Blackstone police departments, with 14 years as a police and fire dispatcher in Norfolk, working as a manager for Hess, in operations at Granite City Electric, driving vehicles for special needs students. Mike enjoyed volunteering at the Federated Church of Norfolk, the Norfolk Little league, the Norfolk Lions Community activities and with the Imperial Court of RI. He loved music and singing, fishing, umpiring, yard sales and flea markets, history, movies and naps.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend callings hours Saturday January 20th at 9:30-11:00 AM at the Federated Church of Norfolk, 1 Union St, Norfolk. A memorial service will be held at 11:30AM at the church with collation to follow. Donations may be made in Michael’s memory to The Federated Church of Norfolk, Forever Fund, P.O.
