Clark, Edwin “John”
Edwin John Clark passed away peacefully among family at Banner Del Webb Hospital in Surprise, AZ on April 15th, 2017. John leaves behind his loving wife Lowell Kay Clark; his four sisters Jane Clark, Marianne Willman, Elizabeth Clancy, and Kathleen Hamzaj; and his three children Kristin Kay Clark, Karin Leigh Clark, and Marcus Raymond Clark.

John was born to Marcus Edwin Clark and Sabine Wojcik on September 3rd, 1944 in Detroit, MI. He graduated from Walled Lake Michigan High School in 1962. In 1967 he married the love of his life, Lowell Montgomery. In 1970 their twin daughters Kristin and Karin were born. In 1976 they moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa; in January of the following year Lowell gave birth to their son Marcus. John and Lowell retired to Surprise, AZ in 2005.

Among other professions, John was a serviceman and sales manager for Pangborn – a shot blast company from 1974 to 1993. When promoted, he was proud to be the only non-degreed salesperson for Pangborn. John was determined, fair, and willing to doff suit coat and tie to crawl around the foundry equipment to truly understand his client's needs.. He was also the owner, along with his wife, of Lowell’s Landing Marina and Campground in North Buena Vista, IA from 1987 to 1998.

John was active in the communities in which he lived including but not limited to: Board Member of the Oakland County Michigan Easter Seals, Founding Member and instrumental in development of Iowa Pilot Parents, Board Member of Iowa Governor’s Council on Developmental Disabilities, and the President of Iowa Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY). John was also a member of various civic organizations including the Surprise Eagles.

John Clark was an outgoing people person who never met a stranger, greeting everyone with a big smile and an even bigger hug. He generously gave of his time and talents to his family and many friends. John’s charm, charisma, wicked sense of humor and ability to make people laugh will be missed by all.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Cedar Rapids, Iowa at a future date.
