Dear Ann,
Your father is finally beyond pain, and together with your adventurous Grandmother and so many who've gone before and cherish him and can be with him now. Your fond memories of your Dad will grow in you and your family, as his thoughtful spirit continues to bring you comfort. You know well your Dad is always a part of who you are.
May you find peace,
Denise

Vicki and I send our love and heartfelt condolences to the Chamberlain family. We are praying each day the Lord will comfort and strengthen them during this time of loss. Willy was a rare gentleman and certainly blessed us with his friendship.

I believe this is what Willy would say to us all today:
It's not the end of the trail for me,
I'm just headin' out to the light I see.
Beyond those mountains there's a soft glow;
It's gettin' brighter the closer I go.
It's like the beginning of a new day,
And the trail I'm followin' leads the way.
I feel sure there's friends and family ahead,
And they've set up camp on a brand new spread.
Yes, I can hear the voices callin' my name,
sayin', "Welcome Willy, sure glad you came,
This new range is special, you'll like it here,
There's grass for your horses, the streams are clear,
The cattle are gentle and never stampede,
And in every direction there's plenty of feed.
If you're thinkin' it sounds too good to be true,
it's not—'cause the Boss made a promise to you.
If you'd ride for his brand, be honest and square,
He'd relive all your pain, and remove every care.
He was mighty pleased with your life on earth,
That you did your best, and proved your worth.
So step off your horse, and tied on up,
Your friends are all waiting to pour you a cup.
We'll talk about old days, as time allows,
'cause startin' tomorrow you'll be workin' cows!"

Willy was a 1986 Picadore Maverick in Rancheros as well as a Ranch Member of Santa Barbara Trail Riders and I am sure involved with many other groups. Willy and family including Brother Fred and Sister Sarah were always very open to having us as guests at their Rancho Los Porteros AKA Ted Chamberlin Ranch in Los Olivos.
We have lost a great statesman, rider, teacher, mentor and above all, a true gentlemen. Willy was always cool, gave great suggestions, helped with acquiring rights to ride other ranches and wonderful with dealing with kids and people who had never worked cattle before. We used Willy many times at Janeway on our Gringo Family Ride for sorting clinics along with his chalk board.
Willy was also very inspirational and helpful with the Old Spanish Days Fiesta Stock Horse Show & Rodeo. He chaired the team penning for many years, borrowed, delivered and returned panels for the penning and numerous other duties and put a lot of effort into making Fiesta a success in Santa Barbara over the years.
We will miss Willy, his wisdom, horse and mule. Remember that Willy many times brought 2 animals to an event, one for the trail [his mule] and one for the arena.
Willy & I share one great day in common, July 4th!!
Vaya con dios

Dear Ann and Russ and all of your immediate family,
I am so sorry for your loss and I will miss Willy dearly. I learned so very much from him. Especially about the power of personal development and change. I count myself very lucky to have had such a caring and open uncle. I will continue to learn and grow from the experiences I shared with him, and I know that is true for so many people. Please know we are happy to help in any way. Take care of yourselves through the grieving process. Love, Eden, Anton, Jamie and Dante Brenner

Dear Ann, Russ and the Entire Chamberlin Family:
We are so very sorry to hear of the loss of your Dad. Willy was truly an amazing man, always kind and thoughtful and I feel so very fortunate to have known him. Many of my fondest childhood memories are centered around your Family, the Ranch, moving cattle, riding raunchy ponies, swimming in the Res, playing between our houses, tormenting Russ ... I feel so blessed to have been a small part of all of it. I am sure there is a great reunion taking place in heaven right now with your Dad, Beth, Oma, Opa and all the others that have gone on before him.
Please know that our love and prayers are with you now as you adjust to your significant loss. Willy will truly be missed by many but never forgotten.
With sincere sympathy,
Michael and Beverly Holliday and the Burchardi Family
