My workmates and I (at a US non-profit called Internet2) came to get to know Robert through the workplace. We all found Robert to be trustworthy and affable - the kind of fellow who took his work, but not himself, seriously. He connected with us at a human level which made the work we did together, more meaningful. We will miss Robert's presence on our regular calls. The team at Internet2 wishes strength, energy, love and support for all of Robert's friends and family at this sad time.

My sincerest sympathies to the Berndt family. Robert was a very compassionate and understanding man (and boss), a true gentleman. May you find solace in each other and in the wishes of all those he has touched.

I am so sorry to hear of Rob's passing. I grew up with the Berndts in Buckingham and have memories of Rob's music and his quiet and thoughtful nature. My condolences to Jo-Ann and all of the Berndt Family. Take care. Susan

Jo-Ann,
I am so terribly sorry for your loss. I was happy to read that Rob had taken up cycling, I am sure the two of you spend many happy times on the trails. Virtual hug to you in this sad time, my friend. xox

I am so sorry for your loss. Robert was my boss but I considered him so much more, he is a dear friend. I will also miss him greatly but will remember the times we spent together and hold them dear to me.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you
