Aunty Des, you were one of the most remarkable people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. You are part of my earliest memories, a woman that I always looked up to - hard working, joyful, loving, caring, kind, resourceful, intelligent, warm, spiritual, encouraging, honest, humorous, fun, funky and most humble. You carried yourself with grace and always put the needs of your family first. We always looked forward to our holidays in Durban, your always welcomed us with loving arms and treated every person in a way that made them feel like they mattered. You listened attentively and always encouraged us to stay positive. I feel so blessed to have had you in my life over the past year especially. You made me feel comforted during the lockdown and helped me to become more grateful for everything that I have. Words cannot even describe how much of an impact you have made in my life and those who had the pleasure of experiencing the wonderful person that you were. I will miss you dearly and cherish the wisdom you have shared. I love you and will always keep you close to my heart.
