from Polly Eels: Lou- The only words that come to me are: She was my best friend for over 47 years. Love to all, Polly

Jeannie and Lou belong together. They were wonderful together exploring new destinations. I always looked forward to those Christmas pictures that told me where they last travelled. Jeannie knew how to celebrate life and make it exciting for others. While having a good time herself, she always remembered those less fortunate. Global Partners: Running Waters benefitted from their generosity, and people in Guatemala have New Life because of them! Jeannie's spirit lives on in the lives of many. She was loved and will be missed. Jan Gregorcich, SSND

The room is full of conversations. Little Rio barking and sniffing. Jeannie and Lou in the kitchen. Jean's MOM and DAD were present. We were chatting about Robert Service and his poetry in light of Jeannie's grandfather and grandmother in Dawson YT. Around the home were articles and books, testimonies to family and connection of learning and exploring. Albuquerque New Mexico. Jean a gracious and gentle lady with the warmest smile. From my memory of my first meeting with my cousin and first cousin once removed. Neil Sinclair

Susan Lunt I'd better be! You know I can't fly down for your celebration. I will spend the day in remembrance of Jeannie with Daisy walking where we would walk together at Haley farm. I have never seen a memorial as magnificent as the one you have honored Jeannie with. She may just be feeling the love!XO Susan Lunt

Paula Holt When my cousin married Jeannie nearly thirty years ago, I was busy with young children so family visits were infrequent. But in later years we would meet in NYC or Lake George,NY and get caught up. It was during those visits that I really got to know Jeannie, not as the scholar and humanitarian she was, but as the woman who made Lou so happy. We would share stories about family. Mine being when I was a little girl with my cousin (favorite cousin actually!) and hers being about the time she and Lou did this or that and of course how Lou's adventures in cooking were always such fun! Jeannie was Lou's soulmate and companion. His companion in life which was filled with so many amazing trips, experiences and people. It was such a pleasure listening to Jeannie recount their adventures as well as talking about her family, namely grandchildren, her three to my one. I will miss Jeannie and her smile. Her smile was constant, truly a testament to her happy life. Rest In Peace my friend. Love, Paula
