Sarge is my uncle’s brother. I had the wonderful opportunity to first meet Sarge and his always smiling wife, Pat, some 40 years ago in Brookfield. I was probably 13 if not younger. Sarge impressed me with his stature, education and eloquence. It was at a time in my life where I needed a mentor to guide me on high school and a counsel toward college; my parents could not provide that insight as they did not choose higher education. I am forever grateful for the time I got to spend with Sarge. His insight helped to calm my concerns and his approach incentivized me to want to succeed. To this day when I encounter a new contact, I ask questions and try to show genuine interest for that contact. I can thank Bennett Bensick for that. Sarge is more than likely providing calm for his brother in heaven right now.

"Sarge" was a man of perpetual kindness, staunch equanimity, gentle humor and emotional support. He was scrupulously educated, always learning more, and also an assiduous caregiver. Incredibly enjoyable to converse with, endlessly patient in all manner of conversation. It seems as if he was always there, is here even now in those whose lives he touched, and always will be....signed: Valerie Kraemer
