Betty and Warren were one of the first couples to welcome my parents to Forest Grove after they moved here well into their retirement. Having grown up on South Dakota farms, I think my folks recognized that midwestern sincerity and considered them their closest friends in the last years of their lives. I, in turn, had the pleasure of being in a tennis group with Warren for several years. That relationship allowed me to get to know Warren better than Betty, but one of the things I learned is that he adored his wife. They were a big part of this community and will be missed. But not forgotten.

Looking at the pictures in this memorial for you and your family Betty brought fond memories. Sending you Portland Rose Society yearly calendars with beautiful rose pictures for each month gave me much pleasure. Your and Warren's Rose garden in your home in Forest Grove gave each of you much pleasure. I will always cherish the times that we had together as a Tennis gang and kidding each other. Talking with you and Warren in your home and then at Jenny's McCall retirement center will always be part of my life.
Thank you Tom Lancaster for letting Elena Parker, UCC in Forest Grove, know of Betty's passing. She emailed me to let me know. Thinking of you Tom and Angela Lancaster and Tom Knuth, Mary Hopper, Jack Lancaster, and the rest of the family.
