Uncle Sarge was in my memory a gentle man not only of great physical stature but I sensed even as a child of great sagacity and intellect . Uncle Sarge and his family displayed such kindness and care when my own family was in need . His daughter Carol was my best friend during those times and has remained close to me in my heart ever since . The many years that ensued did not dilute the friendship he had with my own father Nicholas and they remained the best of friends until he passed away . Uncle Sarge will remain towering and indelible in my memory and much loved ! Andrew

My Uncle Sarge and Aunty Pat as my brother Adrian and I lovingly called them were figures in my early life to whom we looked up and loved .
