I have known Lui forever since I joined LN in 1999. We worked together on several projects dealing with complex editorial systems and business rules. His calm demeanor, humor and deep technical expertise always made everyone feel at ease even in tensed situations while under pressure. He was one of the healthiest colleague/friend I've known and topped my list when it came to being fit. I have personally counted on him on several occasions when we were hit with system issues and getting the right folks together to identify a solution. Lui will indeed be sorely missed inside and outside of work and this is a huge loss. For all of us who have known him forever, this is still a shocking news hard to digest. I am sure he is in a better place and may he rest in peace.

Lui was an all-around great guy and a pleasure to work with. Extremely knowledgeable and a wonderful sense of humor. He could always be counted on to help out. I'm very saddened by his passing and wish I could have known him better.

Lui is one of the best engineers I've had the good fortune to work with - knowledgeable, always rational, reasonable, and calm in the midst of some very tense moments. He was also very patient with end users and took the time to meet/chat/explain the situation in clear non tech language. Lui was a key resource for nearly 2 decades supporting our applications and workflow. Thank you LUI, you will be missed dearly. Rest in peace.

I have known Lui for last 6 years and was working with him on the same project for last couple of years. He was the best person both at work and off work.

One of the great human being I have known. He will be missed for sure.

Lui started with Mead Data Central back in 1986. I started the year after. I've literally worked on and off with him for 34 years. Greatest engineer I've ever known.

He and I have been on many "Crisis Action Team" calls to discuss the hot problem of the day. On those calls, I always knew 2 things if I heard Lui say "So, here's the thing...":
1 - he had discovered that the resolution path we were heading down was wrong, and
2 - he knew the correct path.
He could always be counted on to get to the true root cause of the problem.

An amazing engineer, a smiling face when it was needed, and a true friend. I do and will miss him...

I never got to personally meet Lui but worked with him on many database releases and other system issues. I always held him in high regard for his patience and knowledge, especially while resolving difficult matters that others couldn't seem to understand. I'll truly miss working with Lui and I feel blessed to have known him.

Lui was a such a wonderful human being to work with, I have worked with him on various projects, he is always helpful. Had good memories in the trips that we went together! I will cherish all the memories that I spent with him. A great soul departed too soon!

Lui was such a wonderful person to work with throughout the years. When LexisNexis bought Shepard's in the late nineties is when I first started working with him. I soon realized he could resolve any issue that came up in our day to day work. He was one of the best engineers and technical leader I have worked with.

I will miss his sense of humor. When work would get stressful, he or I would get on a call with each other to laugh. We joked around a lot.

I am truly blessed to have known him as a colleague and friend.

Lui forged a great many friendships and garnered huge respect across the LexisNexis family during his nearly 35 years with the company. His contributions have spanned many applications, systems, and teams, but always with extreme professionalism and quiet confidence. Everyone I know that’s ever worked with Lui loved his open approach to solving problems and driving results, all while maintaining a very positive attitude – regardless of the challenge at hand. He'll be sorely missed as both a friend and a colleague.
