This memorial was created in honor of Jennifer "Jen" Renae Nicholls of Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Jennifer passed peacefully at home on July 19, 2016. Jennifer was loved by many and will be dearly missed by all of her friends and family.
She was born on October 2, 1978 in Minot, North Dakota, to Jeffrey Haugen and Denice (Brandt) Haugen. She attended schools in Minot & Bismarck, ND; Henderson NV, and graduated from Chatfield High School (1997) in Littleton, Colorado. Jennifer studied and earned a certificate in Travel & Tourism from Arapahoe Community College, Littleton, Colorado in 1998.
On July 21, 1999 Jennifer was united in marriage to Tyler Nicholls in Bergen Park, Colorado. The couple, along with their sons Nathan and Hayden, made their home in Roxborough Village, Littleton, Colorado.
Among Jennifer’s greatest joys in life were her children and the Denver Broncos football team. Her days were brightest when she could speak of her children’s achievements or when the Broncos won.
Jennifer is survived by daughter, Shelby Powell of Shadow Hills, CA; sons Nathan & Hayden Nicholls of Littleton, CO, parents Jeffrey Haugen, Mesa, AZ and Denice & Paul Downs, Littleton, CO; sibling sisters Johanna (Nathan) Roten of Belton, MO; Jayme Haugen, Gering, NE; Summer & Sierra Downs of Littleton, CO; and step brothers Joshua and Jeremy Hackney of Denver, CO. Grandparents include Donald and Donna Haugen of Minot, ND; Darlene Brandt of Colorado Springs, CO and step-grandmother Betty Brandt of Minot, ND. She also leaves numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Jennifer was preceded in death by grandfather Myron Brandt and step-mother Laurie Haugen.
A Memorial service will also be held at Zion Lutheran Church in Minot, ND on July 30th at 10:00 am. Internment will be at Rosehill Cemetery, Minot, ND immediately following the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in her name, which will be used for her children’s higher education in future years.
