Leon Vernon Troutman 79, of Chicago, passed away peacefully at home, April 2, 2018. Leon was born February 15, 1939 to the late Andrew “Doc” and Amanda Neal “Tiny” Troutman. Leon has spent over 25 amazing years with the love of his life Anita (Johnson). Leon is survived by his son, Leon (Teri) Miller of South Bend, IN; son Wesley Troutman of Atlanta, GA, and step-daughter, Ayeshia (Jamaal) Garrett of Chicago, IL; step-son Rashad Johnson and six grandchildren, Jeromy Miller, who preceded him in death, Courtney, Jacob Ratkay, Roland Miller, Samiyah M, Zeliah-Free W. Garrett and one great-grandson, Bryant Wiley. Leon was an avid bowler who enjoyed traveling to tournaments across the United States. He enjoyed traveling and would think nothing of driving to another state for breakfast. Leon was a United States Army Veteran, and a community leader. He was a gentle soul with simple tastes and unfailing good humor. For him, his own discomfort was no excuse for failing to show kindness and respect to everyone he met. His favorite saying was “whatever suits you, tickles me to death.” Leon will be greatly missed …until we meet him again.
